Recipes for 'After' Canning and Dehydrating

The recipes you will find here are entirely from the panty - nothing is fresh.  We all appreciate and enjoy cooking with fresh ingredients, but cooking with canned or dehydrated ingredients is a little bit different.  As a rule, canned and dehydrated foods work better in soups, stews and casseroles, although sometimes they are great in stand-alone dishes.  It is my goal to provide recipes that only use ingredients you would have in your pantry.  Being prepared and having a well-stocked pantry is great, but knowing what to do with all that food is even better!

Many of the recipes assume that you have the basics - pasta, spices, grains, etc.  Some of the canned or dehydrated ingredients called for may have instructions on this website, but not necessarily all.  If you don't know what to have in your pantry, check out the Well Stocked Pantry page for some ideas on how to get started.  Because these recipes feed my family, they are all gluten-free.
